On May 17th, 2018, Starbucks celebrates its 16 years journey in Indonesia. From May 2002, we land our very first store in Indonesia at Plaza Indonesia to this day; the network has grown to more than 300 stores in 23 cities. And to celebrate its anniversary, Starbucks launched an exclusive anniversary collection of merchandise, collaborated with IKAT Indonesia by Didiet Maulana.

The collections include tumbler, tote bag, cup sleeve, pouch, and the iconic  Starbucks® Bearista which showcase Starbucks appreciation to Indonesia’s beautiful woven textile;  Ikat.  Ikat which means ‘menyatukan’, ‘persatuan’ is aligned with Starbucks mission and local values to be ‘United with Indonesia’. An elegant earthy tones with hues of green, yellow, and blue color palette is inspired by Indonesia coffee and the richness of Indonesia archipelago.

Starbucks exclusive anniversary collection collaborated with IKAT Indonesia.

"Starbucks value the local culture where doing business. Through this collaboration, we would like to show our support in promoting local culture. This set of merchandise boasts the elegance of Ikat motif with a modern touch. By working with acclaimed young talented Indonesia designer, Didiet Maulana, we hope to inspire our customers and further connect them with our brand and be proud with local heritage", said Anthony Cottan, Director of Starbucks Indonesia. This special collaboration is an opportunity for Starbucks to recognize and thank Indonesia for our continued partnership and journey with the country. Starbucks will continue to add local touches to our everyday experiences, showcasing unique store and merchandise designs and special menu offerings that celebrate Indonesian people and its rich culture and heritage.

"IKAT is just one of many textiles that represent the rich diversity of Indonesian’s culture. We hope through this collaboration there will be an increase of appreciation to our heritage that has been passed down from generation to generation."
