Developing Better Future With Farmers

As part of our commitment to develop community, our Farmer Support Centers which located in Berastagi – North Sumatra works closely with farmers community and Starbucks Partners to enhance farmers’ knowledge in coffee farming and agriculture to a better production outcome and sustainable farming practices.

Recently, 08 September 2016 Starbucks and Farmer Support Centers and Starbucks Indonesia collaborated in conducting a coffee farming training which involving around 20 farmers from farmers community – Tani Sinergi Fajar Harapan, 1 agronomist that took place in Suka Village, Tiga Panah – Berastagi, North Sumatra. This activity began with building a “Coffee Nursery” then to a seed-bearing and continued to planting activity from 2nd week of September 2016 until July 2017.

Even though the farmers community who participated this program did not supply their coffee to Starbucks, however this program can help farmers to grow coffee in a better way for people as well as the environment.
